What do we want from the Huddersfield game?
Our current mood is clearly an overwhelming sense of anger and frustration towards the owners and Bilic. A bad loss to Huddersfield would almost seem like a justification of what we're feeling and might precipitate the departure of Bilic and possibly the arrival of Benitez.

But if we beat Huddersfield quite convincingly, however unlikely it might seem at the moment, what then? All is forgiven and everything in the garden is rosy? Or just a stay of execution for Bilic? What happens to all the anger? It would be really weird on here, for sure!

I'm not fussed if we get a result or not to be honest. I'm just hoping for jelly and ice cream after. I fucking love jelly and ice cream.

This has all the hallmarks of a relegation death spiral.

Manager under siege, owners under siege, supporters fuming over new stadium.

Wonder what our highly paid, pampered stars are thinking? A positive reaction would be nice.

We're in the midst of a classic WHU self destruct period..and it's far from over.
Only one winner here..and it ain't us.

If they play anyway half decent..we're fucked

Re: What do we want from the Huddersfield game?
I'd like us to retain possession and pass the ball fluently. Be decisive in the back and work hard for each other.

A level of commitment to the club from the players that has been lacking of late and come out of the traps right from the start.

A side minus Ayew, and of course a win to kick start our season.

What will actually happen of course is we'll start slow and scared, give the ball away cheaply, concede early and ultimately lose the game with Billic having no plan B.

Should he go? If we lose, yes, because you simply can't lose to a newly promoted team at home in any circumstances, particularly this early in the season when they are 'finding their feet'.

But - we will - it's the West Ham way..

I would like us to produce a confident win; what I think will happen is we will get closed down relentlessly, lose in the last 15 minutes and be minus a manager on Tuesday.

THEY will be looking for three points ; one minimum!

If we're not on it we're fucked!

A win, a reasonably convincing performance, a sense that our management know what they are doing, a clear tactical plan, evidence of a bit of power and energy in the team's performance

Cringeworthy Zabaleta article on the OS today.

Re: What do we want from the Huddersfield game?
I want everyone to pull together.

I want the players to show they care, the fans to get behind the team and create an atmosphere that shows the watching TV audience who we are.

3 points would be great but a decent performance and avoiding a defeat will do for now.

I dunno why but I'm really looking forward to the game. I know I shouldn't be, I should be dreading it, but I'm bang up for it for some reason.

After supporting West Ham for 40 years, it's still the hope that gets you.

Thought about this before I answered.
I reckon if we lose the season is cooked and we will get relegated.

I like Bilic and hope he can turn it around but I'm not sure he will. I feel that if we lose this one it's literally all over for him. Hopefully we can get the win tho and a clean sheet and he can start to rebuild the confidence.

In post match interviews he's starting to look completely lost almost like he'd be pleased to be put out of his misery

A convincing win which I'm doubtful of but Bilic seems lost like most the players

Norflundon, I agree Obiang has not done much since returning from injury and should not walk into the team based on what he did in the 1st half of the 2016-17 season.

I want us to win.

But I think we will get beat quite easily and that will be the end of Slav.... Sadly.

Re: What do we want from the Huddersfield game?
Alf
Don't you think the reason he's dropped Obiang could possibly be he was our worst player at Man Utd then I think he came on at 2-2 against Southampton when we seemed to be in control of the game even tough we had 10 men we ended up losing, he was definitely the least effective of noble and rice against Cheltenham plus he was garbage in PRE season. Maybe he'll trust noble and kouyate to play behind Lanzini as they were superb together for 12 months and Pedro has had about 5 decent games for us

Re: What do we want from the Huddersfield game?
Much as Sir Alf has described below I want to see a level of fitness that we have not seen since we left Upton Park.

Sitting so high at St James it was obvious that Newcastle were so much fitter than us and their two men closing down the ball all the team made such a mess of our passing it around the back that we were pressured in to going back to Hart for a punt up field which more often than not gave the ball away.

Without the proper fitness a lot of what else is required cannot be done.

I like Bilic and have a lot of sympathy for him dealing with a cunt like Sullivan but the one area that is totally down to him is the fitness of the players.
